In My Verizon, choose Chat with us and type “Cancel”, or call 800-922-0204. The line stays active until the last day of the billing period you cancel in.
Steps
Online (chat)
Sign in to My Verizon and choose Chat with us.
Type “Cancel” in the Ask a question box.
Follow the prompts, or ask for a live agent.
By phone
Call Verizon Customer Service on 800-922-0204 (Monday to Saturday 8am–7pm, Sunday 8am–5pm).
Have the account owner’s name, the phone number, and the account PIN or last 4 digits of the account owner’s SSN ready.
When it ends
The disconnection takes effect on the last day of the billing period in which you cancel, not the day you contact Verizon. Verizon suggests scheduling it near the end of your billing cycle.
Good to know
Any Device Payment balance must be paid off. If you don’t, the full remaining amount is charged on your final bill.
Device promotions such as Buy One, Get One stop crediting when you disconnect, and you pay the remaining device balance.
Switching carriers and keeping your number? Let the new carrier transfer it, and keep your Verizon account open until all lines have moved and the final bill is issued.
