Statements download as PDFs in the HSBC app or online banking (up to 6 years). For a CSV or Excel file, search your transaction list in online banking and select Download.
Steps
PDF statement in the HSBC UK app
Log on and select the account.
Tap View statements.
Select the month you want.
PDF statement in online banking
Log on and open the quick links menu.
Select Statements and choose the statement type.
Select the year and month, then download it.
CSV or Excel in online banking
Log on to online banking and choose the account.
Select Search and filter and set the date range.
Select Search.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Download.
Choose the file format and select Continue.
Which file to choose
HSBC UK offers PDF, CSV, Excel. A CSV file is the most reliable choice, but a PDF works too: CancelCompass reads both.
How far back: Up to 6 years of statements in the app or online banking.
Download at least three months so CancelCompass can see each subscription repeat.
Good to know
HSBC only issues a digital statement for a period when money has gone out of the account, so a quiet month may have no statement.
