Sign in at HBOMax.com/subscription and choose Cancel Your Subscription. If another company bills you, such as Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku or your TV provider, cancel with them instead.
Steps
Billed by HBO Max (website)
Sign in at HBOMax.com/subscription.
Check the billing provider shown at the top of the page.
If it’s HBO Max, choose Cancel Your Subscription and confirm.
Billed by Amazon
Go to Amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions.
Turn off auto-renewal for HBO Max.
Billed by Roku
Go to my.roku.com/subscriptions.
Open HBO Max, choose Manage subscription, turn off auto-renew and confirm.
Billed by your TV, internet or mobile provider
Providers such as AT&T, Hulu, Spectrum, Verizon and YouTube TV bill HBO Max for you.
Cancel it in that provider’s account settings or help center.
Billed by Apple or Google?
If you subscribed inside an iPhone or Android app, the app store bills you and you cancel there.
Billed by Apple (iPhone or iPad)
Open Settings and tap your name.
Tap Subscriptions, then the subscription.
Tap Cancel Subscription.
Billed by Google Play (Android)
Open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions on your phone.
Select the subscription.
Tap Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
When it ends
You can keep streaming until the end of your billing period. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid another charge.
Good to know
Not sure who bills you? In the app, choose your profile, then Subscription. The billing provider is shown at the top.
Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your subscription.
If HBO Max bills you directly, you get a prorated refund for unused add-on days. The Extra Member Add-On ends when your base plan does.
