Call The Globe and Mail at 1-800-387-5400 to cancel. Monthly or shorter plans end at the end of the current billing period. Annual plans need at least 28 days’ notice.
Steps
By phone
Call 1-800-387-5400 (Account Maintenance).
Tell them you want to cancel and ask for the date your cancellation takes effect.
Keep a note of the date and the name of the person you spoke to.
When it ends
Plans billed every four weeks or less: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Longer plans such as annual: give at least 28 days’ notice. Access ends on the date the cancellation is processed.
Good to know
You won’t get a refund for the current billing period on shorter plans. Refunds under $5 aren’t given, and any other refund is at The Globe and Mail’s discretion.
Your online account lets you update payment details and pause print delivery, but the terms describe cancelling by phone.
Charges continue until the end of the notice period or the end of the current billing period, whichever comes first.
